A 34-year-old man took a 5-year-old hostage in Batok St. Eusebio Ave. Brgy. Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City, surrendered to the police on Thursday, according to a report by the Pasig City Police Station, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT).

In an initial investigation, Pasig Police Chief Col. Celerino Sacro Jr. said that the suspect, alias "Luigie,” was chased by the people in the area for stealing.

However, the suspect entered a house and took the five-year-old victim as a hostage.

After minutes of negotiation with the police officers, the suspect surrendered to the police and was brought to the police station for investigation and the filing of complaints.
