A 40-year-old man who had been awakened by the television’s loud audio killed his own 29-year-old sister as it turned on the television.
The incident happened in their house in Purok 6, Barangay San Miguel, Santo Tomas Batangas on Saturday night, July 1.
Authority identified the suspect as Allan Catapang.
According to the authority’s investigation, the victim, 29-year-old Mathel Catapang, turned on the television while Catapang was dozing off in the living room.
Allan got upset and confronted his sister, resulting in a heated argument during which the suspect grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in the body.
The suspect ran away while carrying the bladed weapon.
Mathel was taken to the Saint Frances Cabrini Hospital where she was declared dead.
