A dog owner cried foul on social media after finding the lifeless body of her golden retriever named Killua inside a sack after it was chased and killed by a man.

“mahal na mahal ko yan. we found his lifeless body inside a sack,” said the dog owner, Vina Rachelle, in a now-viral Facebook post.

She also shared a CCTV footage of the incident where the dog killer, identified as Anthony Solares, was seen chasing the animal on the road. It was unclear what sharp object the man was holding but he was seen hitting the dog towards the end of the footage.

“our cctv footage sa gate. #JusticeForKillua,” Vina wrote.

She also clarified that Killua did not escape their gate since it was locked.

“ tumaas siya tapos nahulog ata, we don't exactly know what happened. he was probably anxious and stressed, hindi siya sanay sa labas kasi sa loob lang yan ng bahay palagi. kaya, no, hindi namin binuksan yung pinto kaya nakalabas,” she noted.

“and if nangagat man, it is not enough reason to kill my pet,” she continued.

Vina then shared that the dog killer asked for apology, however, “no sorry could ever replace my baby.”

“he was loved by everyone, and he loves us the same. more than pa nga,” she said.

And while they “cannot disclose any information,” Vina assured the public that they will be seeking justice for their family pet.

“I cannot disclose any information po pero I promise po na makakamit natin yung hustisya para sa furbaby ko at para din matigil na ang pagabuso at pagkatay sa mga dogs dito sa lugar namin,” Vina wrote.

Following this, netizens quickly rallied behind the dog owner and condemned the act of animal cruelty by trending the #JusticeForKillua on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

Among those who posted the hashtag was Kapamilya actress Chie Filomeno, who said she was “heartbroken” upon seeing the posts.

“I just saw everything… Nadurog ang puso ko.. #JusticeForKillua,” the actress wrote on the X (formerly Twitter) platform.

As of writing, the hashtag remains as the trending topic in X.

The said incident also prompted netizens to brought up the talks of amending Republic Act 8485 or the Animal Welfare Act of 1998, which seeks "to pass a Philippine law that bans all forms of animal cruelty.”

In a statement, the PAWS Philippines asked the public for help to connect them with the owners of Killua.

"Hi PAWS friends. We understand your anger towards Killua's killer and call for justice. To do this, we need to be able to contact the owner to help them in filing criminal charges. If you or someone you know is in contact with the owner kindly connect us to them," the wrote.

Anthony Solares' Facebook post

In his Facebook account, Anthony claimed that he supposedly prevented the dog from allegedly "attacking" his child.

"Mga inutil na galit na galit sa aking nagawa. Wala kayong pang-unawa. Kung ganito ang nangyari sa aking anak, tutulungan niyo ba kami?Hindi niyo kasi nakita ang buong pangyayare, pinigilan ko lang ang aso na atakihin ang aking anak. Mas maigi na ang aking nagawa keysa ganito ang mangyari sa sinumang anak!" he said in his post.

In another post, he also mocked the distress of the pet owner, even bragging about his ties with a politician.

"Kasu kasu ka pa, ano ba ginawa kung mali!? Kayu itung nagpapakawala ng aso na delikado, paano pag nakagat ang anak ko? Hwalang mapapala iyan dahil kamag-anak namin pulitiko," he wrote.
