A man leaped from the second floor of a burning house in the Lapuz district of Iloilo City, as reported by Aine Grace Bravo on Rapido Hataw Balita.
The victim, alias "Abdul", sustained a burn on his back after reentering his rented room to retrieve his belongings, said Bureau of Fire Protection's (BFP) Iloilo City Fire Investigator Fire Officer Two Earl Anthony Daroca.
When Abdul could no longer stand the searing heat, he was forced to jump from the second floor of the house.
It was discovered that the fire had begun in Abdul's room and spread quickly as the house was made from light materials.
The firefighters had promptly arrived at the scene, just in time to prevent the fire from reaching the ground floor.
Abdul's condition has stabilized, as of the time of reporting.
The arson investigator is yet to find out what had caused the fire.
