A man was arrested after allegedly concealing a can of corned beef in his underwear at a supermarket in Malate, Manila on Wednesday, September 17.

According to the store’s security guard, the suspect took a can of corned beef worth ₱189 from the shelf and hid it inside his underwear. When he tried to leave the store without paying, he was accosted and the canned goods were recovered during a frisk search.

Police identified the suspect as a resident of Alabang, Muntinlupa.

He is currently under the custody of Manila Police District Station 5 and is facing charges of theft.
