Malacañang on Wednesday advised parents to have their children vaccinated against measles and other summer-related illnesses.
In a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro announced that the 'Bakunahan sa Purok ni Juan,' a vaccination drive targeting measles, has been launched in selected local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila.

- Manila
- Mandaluyong
- Las Piñas
Moreover, the initiative will be implemented in other LGUs in the second quarter of 2025.
Government response to expected high heat index
The government assured that it is closely monitoring the situation regarding the expected high heat index in the country amid the summer season.
To address the issue, the Department of Health (DOH) issued Department Memorandum No. 2025-0114, which outlines measures to mitigate the health impacts of heat.
Included in the memorandum are the establishment of 'bukas centers' to assist the public, as well as initiatives for public health literacy, the creation of cooling centers, and the development of climate-resilient health infrastructure, which includes hydration stations.
