Malacañang on Tuesday rejected claims that historical revisionism is taking place after February 25, the day commemorating the EDSA People Power Revolution anniversary, was not declared a holiday.
In a press briefing, PCO Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Atty. Clarissa Castro clarified that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. did not issue any orders to suspend activities related to the commemoration of the 39th anniversary of the movement.
"Since the time na siya po ay naging Pangulo, wala po tayong nadinig na anumang pagpapahinto ng anumang events," said Castro.
"And at the same time pansinin po natin, papaano po mabubura ang history? History is history. So, hindi po kakayanin lang ng Presidente na ito ay mabura sa ating history," she added.

The declaration of February 25 as a Special Working Day earlier prompted remarks that linked it to historical distortion, considering that the EDSA People Power revolution resulted in the removal of former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., the father of the current president.
Castro pointed out that such remarks were merely the opinions of those who, as she claimed, have an agenda to criticize the president and the government.
Furthermore, she noted that the declaration aimed to encourage people to take part in events related to the occasion.
"As of now February 25 is declared as Special Working day and I think it is the prerogative of the President and when we say as Special Working day, still there is encouragement to people to commemorate, to join any event and it will not hinder any activity to commemorate EDSA People Power," Castro explained.
Additionally, she highlighted that the freedom of educational institutions to suspend classes serves as further evidence that Marcos Jr. is not blocking any activities from happening.
"If there is the intention to erase the memories of EDSA People Power, ibang klaseng pamamaraan ang gagawin," she added.
