Malacañang confirmed on Tuesday that the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against former President Rodrigo Duterte has been served.
In an official statement, the Palace reported that early this morning, Interpol Manila received the official copy of the arrest warrant from the ICC.
"Ika-9:20 ng umaga ngayong araw, 11 Marso 2025, ang dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at ang kanyang grupo ay dumating sa Maynila mula Hong Kong sakay ng Cathay Pacific CX 907," the Palace stated.
"Sa kanyang pagdating, inihain ng Prosecutor General ang ICC notification para sa isang arrest warrant sa dating Pangulo para sa krimen laban sa sangkatauhan," they added.
The Palace assured that the former President and his group were in good health and were examined by government doctors to ensure they were in proper condition.
Furthermore, the officials from the Philippine National Police (PNP) who implemented the warrant ensured they were wearing body cameras.
Duterte is reportedly in the custody of the authorities.
Duterte faces charges of crimes against humanity over the anti-illegal drug campaign initiated during his administration, which led to thousands of reported killings.
