The Makati Park and Garden, maintained by the Makati City government, was temporarily closed on Sunday, March 3, in adherence to Taguig City local government's order.

In an official statement, the Taguig City government stated that the Makati Park and Garden has no authorized permits to operate from Taguig City Hall, hence the closure.

"The said park and garden, which has been effectively closed as a park by Makati and used as a garage for its heavy equipment and storage for various objects, is subject to Taguig’s jurisdiction which has the right to possess and administer the same notwithstanding Makati’s unlawful possession," it contended.

Meanwhile, in a separate statement, the Makati City government called the Taguig government a "bully" who only intends to scare Makati citizens.

It argued that almost 100 Taguig personnel were deployed to serve the notice of closure, blocked the park's entrance, and put barricades all over the park.

The Makati City government appealed to concerned national government agencies to intervene in the issue at hand.

The Makati Park and Garden remain closed on Monday, March 4, according to RH Edniel Parrosa's report on DZRH Dos Por Dos.

Interviewed by Parrosa, a Taguig Public Order and Safety personnel falsified reports that Makati City personnel were locked down inside the park.

Ultimo pagkain eh, ayaw abutan. Binaliktad nga kami eh," he said.

Makati City personnel reportedly ignored the notice of closure posted outside the park.
