The progressive Makabayan coalition on Tuesday bared 10 more senatorial candidates that will serve as its partners for "real patriotic change" in the upcoming national elections.
Aside from Bayan Muna's Neri Colmenares and Kilusang Mayo Unos' chairman Elmer Labog, who were earlier endorsed by the coalition, the Makabayan is also backing the candidacies of the following senatorial aspirants:
- Former representative Teddy Baguilat
- Former vice president Jejomar Binay
- Sen. Leila De Lima
- Lawyer Chel Diokno
- Sorsogon governor and former senator Chiz Escudero
- Lawyer and labor leader Luke Espiritu
- Sen. Risa Hontiveros
- Lawyer and author Alex Lacson
- House Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda
- Labor leader and lawyer Sonny Matula
Among the issues cited by the Makabayan coalition are socio-economic and political reforms such as the Anti-Terror Law, peace talks, and red-tagging.
The coalition earlier endorsed the presidential and vice-presidential candidacy of Vice President Leni Robredo and her running mate, Sen. Francis 'Kiko' Pangilinan.
