Many Filipino adults believed that their quality-of-life remained the same over the past year, the results of the Third Quarter 2023 poll conducted by the Social Weather Station (SWS) revealed.

Based on the poll’s results released on Saturday, Nov. 25, 41 percent of Filipino adults responded that nothing has changed in their quality-of-life as compared to 2022 and they were called by SWS as “unchanged.”

Meanwhile, 30 percent Filipino adults, who were termed as "losers", said their lives got worse, and 28 percent “gainers” said their lives got better.

The social research institution said the September 2023 Net Gainer score stood at -2 or classified as “fair."

“The September 2023 Net Gainer score was 13 points below the very high +11 in June 2023. It was the lowest since the -2 in June 2022,” it noted.

The SWS attributed the 13-point decline in the September 2023 Net Gainer to the decreases in Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao.

It also reported that the September 2023 Net Gainer score “fell from very high to fair among the Non-Hungry families, down by 14 points from +13 to -1.”

“It fell from fair to mediocre among Moderately Hungry families, down by 4 points from -8 to -12. It fell from fair to low among Severely Hungry families, down by 15 points -6 to -21,” the social research institution continued.

The Third Quarter 2023 poll was conducted from Sept. 28 to Oct. 1 in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

A total of 1,200 adults, aged 18 years old and above, were interviewed in-person.

Each participants were asked: “Kung ikukumpara ang uri ng inyong kasalukuyang pamumuhay sa nakaraang 12 buwan, masasabi ba ninyo na ang uri ng inyong pamumuhay ay MAS MABUTI KAYSA NOON, KAPAREHO NG DATI, o MAS MASAMA KAYSA NOON?”.
