A magnitude of 5.4 earthquake struck 26 kilometers northwest of Calatagan, Batangas at around 6:43 P.M. on Monday evening, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.

According to the PHIVOLCS earthquake information issued on the same day, it had a depth of 074 kilometers.

Instrumental Intensity III was recorded at Quezon City, but tremors were felt in several areas in Metro Manila.

Although no damages are expected from the earthquake, PHIVOLCS warned the public of the possibility of aftershocks.
