

A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck various parts of Luzon on Tuesday afternoon, May 27, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Phivolcs reported that the quake occurred at 12:17 p.m., with its epicenter located 24 kilometers northwest of General Nakar, Quezon. The earthquake had a shallow depth of only 6 kilometers.
In an interview with MBC TV Network News, Phivolcs Director Teresito Bacolcol confirmed that the tremor was felt in Quezon Province, Metro Manila, and Laguna.

Bacolcol also warned that aftershocks are expected and that some structural damage may be reported in the following hours.
Meanwhile, a magnitude 3.6 aftershock has already been recorded.
Earlier, PHIVOLCS reported a magnitude 5.1 earthquake. However, as of 12:55 PM, it has been downgraded to magnitude 4.6.
