A magnitude 5.1 earthquake hit off the shore of Sipalay, Negros Occidental on Saturday, May 17.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology’s (PHIVOLCS) bulletin, the quake occurred at 8:32 AM, and had a location of 09.89°N, 122.03°E - 046 km N 74° W of City Of Sipalay.
It was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 005 kilometers.
Based on the PHIVOLCS bulletin, the reported intensities affected the following areas:
