A magnitude 5.9 earthquake jolted the town of Esperanza in Agusan Del Sur on Saturday, February 10, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

The earthquake's epicenter was located at 08.67°N, 125.63°E - 002 km S 63° W of Esperanza, Agusan Del Sur. It has a depth focus of 27 kilometers which occurred at 11:22 a.m.

Earthquake intensities were identified in the following areas:

• Intensity II - City of Kidapawan, COTABATO
• Intensity I - Arakan and Kabacan, COTABATO

PHIVOLCS said damage and aftershocks are expected.
