A magnitude 5.9 earthquake hit Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte on Wednesday, February 7, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

In its bulletin, PHIVOLCS said the earthquake with a depth of 10 kilometers occurred at 12:05 in the afternoon.

It was tectonic in origin.

Instrumental Intensities were felt in the following areas:

• Intensity VI - Pasuquin, ILOCOS, NORTE
• Intensity IV - Sinait, ILOCOS SUR
