Dalupiri Island in Cagayan was struck by a tectonic earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 on Saturday night, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

The epicenter of the quake was located approximately 10 kilometers north of Dalupiri Island, and it occurred at around 6:15 p.m.

No significant damage occured but Phivolcs issued a warning about possible aftershocks.

According to Phivolcs, intensities of the earthquake were felt in various areas:

• Intensity IV (moderately strong) - Burgos, Ilocos Norte; Calayan, Cagayan
• Intensity III (weak) - Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte
• Intensity II (slightly felt) - City of Laoag, Ilocos Norte

The instrumental intensities are as follows:

• Intensity IV - Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte
• Intensity III - City of Laoag, Ilocos Norte; Aparri, Cagayan
• Intensity II - City of Batac, Ilocos Norte; Gonzaga and Peñablanca, Cagayan
• Intensity I (scarcely perceptible) - City of Vigan, Ilocos Sur
