Magnitude 4.9 quake jolts Abra De Ilog, Occidental Mindoro

A magnitude 4.9 earthquake jolted Abra De Ilog in Occidental Mindoro on Thursday morning, February 1, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
PHIVOLCS initially recorded a magnitude 5.0 earthquake.

The 4.9 earthquake occurred at 4:46 a.m. with a depth of 11 kilometers.
PHIVOLCS said the quake was of tectonic origin.

- Intensity IV: Abra de Ilog and Mamburao, OCCIDENTAL MINDORO
- Intensity III - City of Calapan, ORIENTAL MINDORO
- Intensity II: City of Tagaytay, CAVITE
- Intensity I: Batangas City, Cuenca, Mataas na Kahoy, and San Luis, Batangas
The state seismologists said property damage is expected, but there would be no aftershocks.
