A magnitude 5 earthquake struck east of Sarangani Island, Municipality of Sarangani, Davao Occidental, on Thursday night, August 29.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the earthquake occurred at 9:46 p.m.

It was tectonic in origin, with a depth of 10 kilometers.

Meanwhile, no intensities were reported.
