A magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck east of Linging, Surigao Del Sur early Tuesday, August 6, 2024, according to PHIVOLCS.

The tectonic quake occurred at 3:11 a.m. and had a depth of 1 kilometer.

An Intensity III was observed at the City of Bislig, Surigao Del Sur.

According to the state seismologist, this is an aftershock of the 2024 August 03 Magnitude 6.8 Offshore Surigao del Sur earthquake event.

PHIVOLCS said that no significant damage or aftershocks are expected to occur.
