A magnitude 4.7 earthquake struck off the coast southeast of Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental, early Friday morning, according to PHIVOLCS.

The state seismologists initially reported the earthquake as having a magnitude of 5.2.

The tectonic quake occurred at 4:05 a.m. at a depth of 82 kilometers.

PHIVOLCS stated that no damage is expected, though aftershocks may occur.
