A magnitude 4.7 earthquake jolted some parts of San Pablo, Zamboanga Del Sur at around 12:37 PM, on Wednesday, January 29, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.

In the earthquake information issued at around 12:40 PM the same day, the PHIVOLCS said that the earthquake had a depth of 010 km.

It was identified to have an instrumental intensity of Intensity III - Molave and is tectonic in origin.

Additionally, the PHIVOLCS mentioned that damages are expected as a result of the earthquake. However, they noted that no aftershocks are expected.
