Magnitude 4.6 quake strikes Maasim, Saranggani

A magnitude 4.6 earthquake jolted Maasim, Sarangani, on Wednesday evening, August 29, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
PHIVOLCS reported that the earthquake struck at 11:47 p.m. with a depth of 31 kilometers, originating from a tectonic source.
The reported intensities are as follows:
Instrumental Intensities:
- Intensity V - Kiamba, Sarangani
- Intensity III - T'boli and Lake Sebu, South Cotabato; Maasim and Maitum, Sarangani
- Intensity II - Don Marcelino and Sarangani, Davao Occidental; Glan and Malungon, Sarangani; City of Koronadal, South Cotabato
- Intensity I - Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat; Tampakan, Santo Niño, and Surallah, South Cotabato

Meanwhile, the state seismologist said no damage or aftershocks are expected to occur.
