Magnitude 4.2 quake hits Balut Island, Davao Occidental

A magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck Balut Island in the Municipality of Sarangani, Davao Occidental, on Wednesday night, January 1, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
According to PHIVOLCS, the quake, which was tectonic in origin, occurred at 11:15 p.m. at a depth of 10 kilometers.
Meanwhile, no intensities were recorded, and no damage or aftershocks are expected.
