Magnitude 4.8 quake hits Batuan, Masbate

A magnitude 4.8 earthquake hit the Municipality of Batuan in the province of Masbate, on Tuesday, October 3.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the tectonic quake occurred at 5:30 AM with a depth of focus of 14 kilometers.
Intensities are reported in the following areas:
- Intensity V - City of Masbate, and Milagros, MASBATE
- Intensity IV - San Fernando, MASBATE
- Intensity III - City of Legazpi, ALBAY; Palanas, MASBATE
Phivolcs also recorded various instrumental intensities in different areas:
- Intensity V - City of Masbate, and Milagros, MASBATE
- Intensity IV - Aroroy, and Monreal, MASBATE
- Intensity III - City of Legazpi, and City of Tabaco, ALBAY; Batuan, MASBATE; Bulusan,
and Donsol, SORSOGON - Intensity I - Kawayan, BILIRAN

Meanwhile, Philvocs said there is no expected damage or aftershocks.
