A magnitude 4.6 earthquake rocked Batuan, Masbate at 5:38 tAM on Friday, February 17.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) labeled the seismic event as an aftershock of the <a href="https://dzrh.com.ph/post/masbate-earthquake" target="_blank" rel="noopener">magnitude 6.0 earthquake</a> that hit Batuan on Thursday, February 16.
PHIVOLCS recorded the following intensities due to the magnitude 4.6 quake:

<li>Intensity V - City of Masbate, Masbate</li>
<li>Intensity I- Irosin, Sorsogon</li>
</ul>
Instrumental Intensities:
<ul>
<li>Intensity V - City of Masbate, Masbate</li>
<li>Intensity II - City of Legazpi, Albay; Bulusan, and City of Sorsogon, Sorsogon</li>
<li>Intensity I - Pili and Iriga City, Camarines Sur; Tabaco City, Albay</li>
</ul>
Ringgo Garcia, a resident of Batuan, admitted on Thursday that the province continues to experience aftershocks.
"After nung malakas, yung aftershocks ay segundo-segundo. Umuugong talaga yung lupa. Tuwing umuugon yung lupa, yumayanig talaga," Garcia said during DZRH's Dos Por Dos.
