A magnitude 4.6 earthquake rocked Batuan, Masbate at 5:38 tAM on Friday, February 17.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) labeled the seismic event as an aftershock of the magnitude 6.0 earthquake that hit Batuan on Thursday, February 16.

PHIVOLCS recorded the following intensities due to the magnitude 4.6 quake:

• Intensity V - City of Masbate, Masbate
• Intensity I- Irosin, Sorsogon

Instrumental Intensities:

• Intensity V - City of Masbate, Masbate
• Intensity II - City of Legazpi, Albay; Bulusan, and City of Sorsogon, Sorsogon
• Intensity I - Pili and Iriga City, Camarines Sur; Tabaco City, Albay

"After nung malakas, yung aftershocks ay segundo-segundo. Umuugong talaga yung lupa. Tuwing umuugon yung lupa, yumayanig talaga," Garcia said during DZRH's Dos Por Dos.
