Luzon and Visayas grids have been placed under yellow alert on Wednesday, April 17, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said.

In its latest advisory, NGCP said the Luzon grid will be on yellow alert from 1 PM to 11 PM with an available capacity of 13,607MW and peak demand of 12,874MW.

It added that 18 power plants are on forced outage, while 3 others are running on derated capacities, for a total of 1,969.3MW unavailable to the grid.

In the region, 13 power plants are on forced outage, while 5 others are running on derated capacities, making 698MW unavailable to consumers.
