The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Monday, March 11, ordered personnel to prioritize women applicants in its free driving course.

This was part of the agency’s programs and activities to honor women this National Women’s Month.

“This is the LTO’s way of recognizing the role of Filipino women in the society, especially as the government’s partners in ensuring the safety of all road users,” LTO chief Vigor Mendoza said.

On March 8, celebrated as International Women’s Day, the LTO and local government unit in Naga awarded women scholarship certificates for the Theoretical Driving Course (TDC).

According to the LTO, TDC is an outreach program that aims to train motorists about road safety and allows driver’s license applicants to save at least P1,000, which is the normal charge for TDC in driving schools.
