The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Chief Vigor Mendoza on Tuesday, Dec. 19, urged schools to add LTO's road safety facility to students’ educational tours.
In a press statement, Mendoza said the visit to the Road Safety Interactive Center (RSIC) would help educate students about the significance of road courtesy, discipline, and safety.
RSIC is a facility for the public with interactive spaces and driving simulators for two and four-wheeled vehicles.
“The elementary and high school students are the next generations of motorists. It is important that at their young age, they are already being introduced to this kind of facility that focuses on road safety,” the LTO Chief said.
“I assure you na hindi magiging boring ang pagbisita nila sa ating Road Safety Interactive Center dahil this was designed to cater to younger generations as manifested by our interactive stations and modern facilities,” he added.
Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista said the facility would bolster proper understanding of road safety and traffic rules for everyone.
“Road safety is very important. We have been stressing the need to ensure the safety of everyone—from motorists, pedestrians and children—on Philippine roads. This interactive facility will provide a certain feel for our visitors here,” he said.
