The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Wednesday, Dec. 20, vowed to open more plantilla positions in the next two years to guarantee job security in the agency.
LTO chief Vigor Mendoza said this move aims to reward dedicated personnel who spent years working as contractual employees.
“As early as now, we are planning to open more plantilla positions, positions that would be available for deserving, competent and efficient people who want to serve in the Land Transportation Office,” Mendoza said during the agency’s oath-taking ceremony of newly-appointed and promoted employees.
“That is my vision, that is what I want to happen in the next two years,” he added.
The ceremony welcomed 45 employees who would hold vacant plantilla positions in regional officers while 63 were either hired or promoted to LTO’s central office.
“Gusto natin na maging beneficiaries din ng job security ang napakaraming LTO personnel na nananatiling contractual employees sa napakahabang panahon. Ito ang ipinangako nating gagawin, ito na ang ating ginagawa ngayon,” the LTO chief said.
Plantilla is a term used to denote “regular” or “permanent.”
