The Land Transportation Office (LTO) announced on Friday, Dec. 29, that it would continue the implementation of its “no registration, no travel” campaign next week.
The agency earlier eased the strict campaign against delinquent motor vehicle owners for the rest of December to give way to the spirit of Christmas.
“Starting next week, we will be reviving our strict ‘No Registration, No Travel’ campaign across the country, so wala ng warning lang. As such, I would like to appeal to our delinquent motor vehicle owners to find time to renew the registration of their respective motor vehicles to avoid paying hefty fines,” LTO chief Vigor Mendoza said.
According to the land transportation agency, it would issue stiff penalties against delinquent owners with a P10,000 fine when apprehended by LTO enforcers.
Mendoza underscored that only through having the motor vehicles registered could the government ensure that all vehicles traveling the roads were roadworthy following the rise of fatal road accidents.
“Aside from strict enforcement, we are also implementing ways to make the renewal of the motor vehicle registration fast and comfortable to all our clients. This is the reason why I ordered the creation of special or fast lanes for delinquent motor vehicle registration in all our offices nationwide,” he added.
