The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has summoned a driver caught on video allegedly threatening and physically assaulting a female employee at a gasoline station in Bacoor City, Cavite.
In a show case order issued on Sunday, April 5, 2026, the LTO said it also called on the registered owner of the vehicle, a Toyota Innova, to appear at the agency’s Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID) in Quezon City on April 14 at 1 p.m.
The incident, which went viral on Facebook, shows the driver verbally abusing, pushing, choking, and threatening a gasoline station employee during a fuel transaction dispute.
The show cause order (SCO) instructs the driver and vehicle owner to explain why the driver’s license should not be suspended or revoked for being an “Improper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle,” as defined under Section 27(a) of Republic Act 4136, amended by Section 7 of B.P. Big. 398.
Meanwhile, the driver’s license has been immediately suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle involved has been placed under “alarm” status pending the outcome of the investigation.
Respondents are required to submit a sworn explanation and supporting documents ahead of the hearing.
“Failure to attend or submit your comment/explanation shall be considered a waiver of your right to be heard, and the Office shall proceed and complete the investigation in your absence,” the LTO added.
