The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Friday extended the validity of the driver's licenses and student permits expiring April 24 to the end of October this year.
Under a memorandum order, driver's licenses and student permits expiring April 24 are valid until October 31, 2023 or as soon as Department of Transportation (DOTr) "is able to procure and the winning bidder has successfully delivered the license cards, whichever comes first."

"Further, all penalties for late renewal transactions shall be waived," the LTO noted.
The extension comes after the agency announced that it will be issuing temporary driver's licenses printed on paper soon as supply of plastic cards in LTO offices nationwide is running low.
