The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Thursday, Dec. 7, lauded the regional offices in Western Visayas and Metro Manila on their aggressive campaign of “no registration, no travel” policy.
LTO chief Vigor Mendoza noted that this would result in delinquent motor vehicle owners being encouraged to register, leading to roadworthy vehicles traversing the streets nationwide.
“Ito naman talaga ang main purpose ng ating kampanya bilang bahagi ng mandato ng inyong LTO na tiyakin ang kaligtasan ng lahat ng road users,” Mendoza said.
The agency’s data also showed a steady increase in registrations in other regions, reporting that 3,671 vehicles were renewed as of November 30, with 8,712 motorcycles renewing the registration.
LTO implemented the “no registration, no travel” policy following the 24.7 million unregistered motor vehicles.
Meanwhile, LTO earlier waived the policy for the rest of December ahead of the holiday season.
