The Land Transportation Office (LTO) identified the driver of the white SUV with protocol plate "7," who fled after illegally entering the EDSA Busway on November 1.
In a press conference on Wednesday, the driver appeared and apologized for the recent incident. It was then revealed that the vehicle was owned by Orient Pacific Corporation.
LTO Chief Asec. Atty. Vigor Mendoza II stated that the driver and registered owner of the SUV contacted the agency yesterday, informing them that they would appear and take responsibility for the incident that occurred in Guadalupe, Makati.
"Ako ay nandito para tungkol doon sa nangyari sa November 3 doon sa EDSA. Ako ay nagkasala sa paglabag sa regulasyon ng batas. Pumasok ako sa EDSA," the driver, Angelito Edpan, said.
"Ako ay humihingi ng pasensya. Hindi ko gusto 'yung ginawa ko sa aking pagkakamali. Hindi ko ninais na makasakit sa enforcer na pumara sa akin. Kaya ako ay humihingi ng pasensya," he added.

Furthermore, Omar Guinomla, the Director of Orient Pacific Corporation, stated that the company's main purpose for appearing before the media was to offer an apology for the incident.
"Our driver, si Lito, has made his statement and the company sincerely apologizes for what happened. Hindi namin ginusto 'yon. Rest assured we will cooperate with the investigation," said Guinomla.
He further stated that the company is conducting an internal investigation and that, most likely within the day, they will issue a statement regarding the matter.
Regarding the protocol plate on the SUV, the matter remains unclear as the investigation is still ongoing.
The SUV in question is a company vehicle and is used to transport guests to investment sites.
The driver confirmed that he was carrying guests whose identities he was unaware of during the incident. He further explained that no one directed him to use the busway, and he was rushing because of a stomach pain.
LTO Chief Mendoza mentioned that they have already verified the Official Receipt and Certificate of Registration (ORCR) of the vehicle, and as of now, the registration is valid with no violations.
The driver was issued a ticket for several violations, including disregarding a traffic sign with a fine of Php 1,000, reckless driving with a fine of Php 2,000, illegal use of a protocol plate with a fine of Php 5,000, and failure to attach a regular plate with a fine of Php 1,000.
