The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is planning to shift its processes to a digital platform to serve more effectively.
"Isa sa mga ginagawa namin para mapagtibay ang digitalization ay talagang pinapadali namin iyong pag-transact ng mga publiko sa ahensya po namin," LTO chief, Assistant Secretary Jose Arturo Tugade said on Saturday, March 11.
The function of the LTO is to inspect and registration of motor vehicles, issuance of licenses and permits, enforcement of land transportation rules and regulations, and adjudication of traffic cases.
"Bukod doon, marami pa tayong mga problema na nakikita sa ating ahensya at iyong mga problema na iyon ay ina-analyze po natin, ini-evaluate natin," Tugade added.
In the said digitalization, vehicle owners will only be submitting two requirements for renewal registration in the online portal which are the inspection receipt from a private motor vehicle inspection center and Compulsory Third Party Liability car insurance.
Also included are the transactions for dealers, manufacturers, assemblers, importers, and rebuilders.
LTO also believes that this will solve problems of fixers and corruption.
