The Land Transportation Office (LTO) stressed that there is no cover-up and that the agency is working diligently to track down the owner and driver of the SUV with plate number '7' that illegally passed through the EDSA Busway station on November 3.
"Wala po kaming pinagtatakpan dito. Rest assured na once we determine po kung sino po ang registered owner at malaman din po namin kung sino po 'yung driver, the appropriate penalty will be imposed," LTO Executive Director Atty. Greg Pua Jr. said in a press briefing on Tuesday.
The LTO is actively ramping up its investigation to gather more detailed information about the white SUV that could aid in identifying its registered owner.
Furthermore, LTO admitted that the ongoing investigation is proving to be a challenge. Earlier, the agency disclosed in its initial findings that the plate number used by the SUV featured in the viral video was fake.
"We are now coordinating with other agency baka nakita itong sasakyan na ito or may ibang nakakaalam kung saan po at sinong may-ari ng sasakyan na ito," said Pua.
The agency guaranteed that it will issue a show cause order to the registered owner and the driver of the vehicle, compelling them to explain the violations according to the applicable laws and regulations.
Among the violations committed by the driver in the incident are disregarding traffic signs and improper person to operate a motor vehicle.
