The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) announced plans for a special payout for transport network vehicle service (TNVS) drivers who did not receive the ₱5,000 fuel subsidy due to errors in profile submissions by transport network companies (TNCs).
In an ambush interview at the Quezon Memorial Circle, LTFRB Chairman Atty. Vigor Mendoza II clarified that the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is not at fault.
He explained that the agency aims to ensure the subsidy reaches the rightful beneficiaries. Mendoza noted that the LTFRB relies on lists submitted by TNCs, which sometimes contain errors or inconsistencies, and that names are copied exactly as provided.
“I think it's a learning curve here. Lahat kailangan mag ingat... kailangan lahat maging metikuloso sa pag-entry ng detalye ng isang driver," Mendoza said.
No specific date has been set yet for the special payout, which will target TNVS drivers affected by discrepancies or other issues that prevented them from receiving the initial fuel subsidy.
