The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Tuesday, Oct. 3, approved the petition of ₱1.00 provisional fare increase for modern and traditional public utility jeepneys (PUJs).
According to RH Christian Ma&ntilde;o, the approved farke hike will take effect on Sunday, Oct. 8.
The ₱1 provisional fare increase will push the current minimum fare in traditional PUJs to ₱13 and in modern PUJs to ₱15.

The LTFRB, meanwhile, will still continue the hearing on the transport group' main petition for a ₱5.00 permanent fare hike.
Several transportation groups <a href="https://www.dzrh.com.ph/post/ltfrb-to-hear-transport-group's-fare-hike-petition" target="_blank" rel="noopener">earlier prayed for a ₱5 increase in the minimum fare</a>, including a provisional adjustment of ₱1.00.
