In celebration of National Solo Parents Week, single parents can avail of free rides on Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) and Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) for Saturday, April 26.
Rides will be free of charge for single parents from 7 AM to 9 AM, and will continue at 5 PM to 7 PM.
Eligible passengers only need to show their solo parent ID at any LRT-2 or MRT-3 station they enter.
The free rides are also the line operators’ response to the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) request, according to a report on MBC TV Network News.
As per the Republic Act No. 11861, or the Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act, the third week of April is now recognized as Solo Parents Week, and the third Saturday of the same month, as National Parents Day.
