The Light Rail Transit System Line 2 (LRT-2) resumed normal operations on the entire line on Friday morning, January 12, after experiencing delays due to power failure.

In an interview during DZRH Dos Por Dos, LRT Administrator Hernando Cabrera said power got energized in LRT-2 at around 6:56 AM.
He explained that technical problems occurred when they changed the old power rectifier, which was affected by the fire in October 2019.
“Last night, magta-transition tayo from doon sa nasunog doon sa bago. As usual, alam mo naman, bago 'yan at i-o-on natin, nagkaroon ng mga technical problem nung i-switch on na ang bago na ni-rehabilitated na transformer,” he said.

According to Cabrera, the technical team had considered bringing back the old power rectifier as they could not energize the new one.
The LRT-2 Administrator said the whole stretch of Antipolo station to Recto station was greatly affected by the power interruption.
Cabrera asked for the affected commuters’ understanding.
He said he had ordered the technical team for a full report on the incident.
