A 26-year-old passenger of Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 1 at Blumentritt Station fell onto the southbound tracks on Saturday, August 19.

In a statement, Department of Transportation Assistant Secretary Jorjette Aquino said that the train operator was able to immediately apply the emergency brake when the passenger went over the tracks.

Due to the incident, a provisional service was implemented from Baclaran to Central Station at 6:12 a.m., according to Aquino.

"First responders rescued the passenger from under the train at around 6:33 a.m. He was found conscious, with head abrasions and a severed left foot," said Aquino.

Around 6:44 a.m., LRT-1 resumed its full operations.
