Some road closures along Roxas Boulevard were rescheduled because of the adjustments to the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) Cavite Extension project construction timeline, said the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) on Monday, May 8.
The LRMC announced through an advisory that road closure is needed for the pedestrian footbridge construction, which is part of the Redemptorist Station that is still under construction, explaining that road closure is a must to make sure of safety during the girder installation works.
Starting at 10 p.m. on May 8 until 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, the northbound stretch of Roxas Blvd. (towards Manila) will be closed.
Furthermore, from 10 p.m. Thursday, May 11th, until 5:00 a.m. Friday, the Service Road near Baclaran Church will be blocked.
The road closures were previously slated for May 2–3 and May 5–6, respectively. He stated that top corporations can afford the boost, while micro, small, and medium enterprises may adopt a gradual increase.
Meanwhile, the LRT-1 Cavite Extension has reached an 82.7 percent progress rate as of March and is on pace to finish phase 1 and commence operation by the fourth quarter of 2024.
