The state weather bureau on Thursday, September 28 said it is monitoring two low-pressure areas (LPAs) inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

In a public weather forecast, PAGASA weather specialist Patrick Del Mundo said the first LPA was located 800 kilometers (km) east of Extreme Northern, inside PAR.

"Halos wala itong kaulapan at malaki ang circulation itong nasabing low pressure area," he said.

Del Mundo added that the first LPA could be dissolved within the day, and may not directly affect the country.

But he noted that the LPA's trough may bring cloudy skies with scattered rains in Visayas and Mindanao, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms in Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The Southwest Monsoon or habagat will bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms the northern portion of Palawan, Del Mundo said.

The second LPA, the PAGASA weather specialist, was located 1,850 km east of Southeastern Luzon, outside PAR.

Del Mundo said there is a possibility that the second LPA can develop into a typhoon in the next few days.

"Kaya patuloy natin itong babantayan at patuloy tayo magbibigay ng updates," he added.
