

The low pressure area (LPA) being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has intensified into a tropical depression and will be called Tropical Depression "Ada", according to PAGASA.
"At 8:00 AM today (January 14), the center of Tropical Depression Ada has developed into Tropical Depression," PAGASA reported on Wednesday.
As of the latest report, the system was located 740 km east of Davao City or 660 km east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It has maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center and gusts of up to 55 km/h, moving in a northwestward direction.
PAGASA said the tropical depression may make landfall over the eastern Visayas by Friday.
Currently, Ada is bringing rainfall to Eastern Visayas, Davao Region, Caraga, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, and Bukidnon.
