Popstar royalty Sarah Geronimo became the first Filipina artist recognized at the 2024 Billboard Women In Music Awards, marking HER-story (history)!

Clad in a Michael Cinco gown, Sarah attended the awards night held at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California on March 7 and personally accepted the trophy as one of the Global Force honorees.

"For me, this recognition signifies courage and hope. Courage to embrace oneself, courage to break boundaries and defy standards, courage to rise above all setbacks and challenges that one person has to face," the 35-year-old singer conveyed during her acceptance speech.

"And hope that one day, this recognition will bridge the Philippines and other nations to create change and positivity in the world through the power of music. Muli, ako po si Sarah Geronimo, isang Filipina. Maraming salamat po. Mabuhay ang OPM. Thank you, Billboard. Thank you, Lord," she added.

Sarah was accompanied by Matteo and her team in G Productions PH in the awards night.

Matteo was a proud husband as he posted a photo of the trophy on his Instagram account.

"Ladies and gentlemen," he captioned, adding an emoji of a Philippine flag.

In the span of her 20-year career in the music industry, Sarah has received big awards in international award-giving bodies such as the Mnet Asian Music Awards, the MTV Europe Music Award, the World Music Awards, and the 2016 Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards.
