The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday received six advanced bomb removal automated vehicle (BRAVE) robots from the United States Anti-Terrorism Assistance (ATA).
The BRAVE robots, which exemplify the power of international collaboration in combating terrorism, were turned over to the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) in a ceremony at Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City on Monday.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the new Explosive Ordnance Disposal or EOD/K9 Group Headquarters was also conducted.
According to PNP, the facility addresses the evolving challenges faced by law enforcement, ensuring that personnel are equipped with the infrastructure needed for effective operations.
"This collaboration showcases the synergy that can be achieved when diverse talents and shared goals converge," PNP Chief Police General Benjamin Acorda said.
"This moment is a celebration of the spirit of collaboration, innovation, and a steadfast 1commitment to public service. The combined efforts behind the BRAVE robots and the EOD/K9 Group Headquarters symbolize the nation’s dedication to staying at the forefront of technology and preparedness," he added.
The initiative not only embraces innovation but also signifies a commitment to excellence and technological advancements in law enforcement, reshaping the future of policing in the Philippines, the PNP stated.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place on the same day that 6 government agencies and local government units (LGUs) received bomb threats.
