

President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. and his family visited the grave of his late father and namesake, former president Ferdinand Marcos Sr. at the Libingan ng Mga Bayani in Fort Andres Bonifacio, Manila on Wednesday morning, Nov. 1.
Joining him were his wife First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and their sons, Joseph Simon and Vicent Marcos. Only Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep. Sandro Marcos was not present.

The President’s mother, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, and his sisters Senator Imee Marcos and Irene Marcos-Araneta also arrived at the national cemetery.

According to RH Leth Narciso, a mass at the former president’s tomb was conducted.
Supporters of Imelda paid a visit to the grave, and most of them wore red t-shirts and red caps.
Marcos Sr. died on September 28, 1989, in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States where he and his family were exiled. He was 72 years old.
In 2016, the former president was laid to rest at the Libingan ng mga Bayani, with the permission of former president Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
