Julia Barretto is the latest actress to join the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Auxiliary K9 Squadron.
On Wednesday, the PCG shared photos on its Facebook page of Barretto along with three other new volunteers as they were welcomed at the donning and oath-taking ceremonies of the Auxiliary K9 Program of the PCG in its headquarters in Port Area, Manila lead by Commandant CG Admiral George Ursabia.
The other auxilliarists are Ando Catipay, Jalil Laidan, and Harold Talan.
Barretto's boyfriend, actor Gerald Anderson, who is an auxiliary lieutenant commander of the PCGA K9 Squadron, was also present at the event.
In an Instagram post, the actor proudly welcomed his girlfriend in the PCG special support squadron.

The 24-year-old actress was the most senior appointee in the group, being an ensign, a rank equivalent to the second lieutenant in the Philippine Army. She was given an opportunity to speak on behalf of her fellow PCGA members.
In her speech, she thanked the PCG for welcoming her into the field of public service. Barretto also pledged to actively support the initiatives of her unit towards the delivery of “humble and compassionate service to the Filipino people.”
Members of the PCG Auxiliary are committed to serving the PCG by offering their time, efforts, and resources without expecting anything in return, according to the PCG.
