What if we told you that the 2020 hit party game of teamwork and betrayal is getting a 3D version where you become the Bean?
The massive rise of the online multiplayer social deduction game, Among Us, was mainly due to several Twitch streamers and YouTubers who played it during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was first released on iOS and Android devices in June 2018, and later released a Windows version in November.
If you’re wondering what differentiates Among Us 3D, from its previous version, the clue is already in the title. The game’s publisher and developer, Innersloth, announced the upcoming sequel will let players navigate the three-dimensional environment in first-person.
“Experience the core Among Us gameplay you know and love – tasks, sabotages, Emergency Meetings, and venting – now in an extremely immersive, 3D environment where everything (yup, everything!) is close up and personal,” Innersloth wrote.
Now, players can experience an immersive and chaotic version of Among Us 3D firsthand. According to Innersloth, Among Us 3D supports crossplay between VR and PC players. Gamers may crossplay with other users on VR consoles like Meta Quest, Steam VR, PlayStation VR 2, and PICO.
This differs from the 2022 version of the game, which requires headsets to experience the VR version. The improved version will also allow proximity voice chat so that players can talk directly in-game without using third-party apps.
Its official launch date has yet to be announced by its developer, but a demo version is available on Steam until March 3.
